This insect trap is engineered for 3-way protection. First, a UV fluorescent bulb generates a warm light, attracting insects. Then a second lure, an exclusive Ti02 titanium dioxide-coated surface, produces CO2 (the same gas we emit when we exhale) that’s irresistible to mosquitoes. Third, a powerful, yet whisper-quiet vacuum fan sucks insects into the retaining cage where they dehydrate and die.

Works better than I expected. I saw all of the mixed reviews and almost didn’t buy it, but the wife told me it was worth trying. We live on only a third of an acre, but we back to a pond and large wetlands area.

Just before we plugged this trap in there were easily a hundred mosquitoes sitting on our back windows at any given time, day or night. Following the instructions we hung the trap on a four foot post about 30 feet from our covered patio, near the windows in our bedroom where it is cool and shady as well as upwind of the pond, added a small packet of attractant, plugged in the trap and let it run for a couple of weeks. After a week there was a noticeably smaller population of mosquitoes, and after two weeks of running constantly we’re down to only a couple of mosquitoes visible on the windows. There has not been much of a change in weather over the two weeks, so I can only assume that this trap is the cause of the vanishing mosquitoes. There are many other flying bugs in the trap, which I guess is a necessary evil, but worth it to me.

Overall I’m very happy with the trap and it will make the use of our back patio much more enjoyable this summer.

Works beautifully. I used to get bitten within a minute of going into my backyard. Now I can be out for at least 15 minutes before I even see a mosquito. It won’t kill every mosquito because new ones will always fly into the area all the time and when a human is competing with this machine, sometimes the human gets the luck of the draw. However, wow, you should see all the dead mosquitos! I have a reminder set for buying new bulbs in 90 days and then will make them part of my amazon “subscription” for the same item on a 90 day repeat. Suggestion for Amazon: let me subscribe to an item without buying it immediately. Suggestion to Dynatrap: make a zapper that can be inserted into the collector so the bugs don’t have to die so slowly.

We bought two. One for our home and one as a housewarming gift to friends. We purchased the gift after trying ours for a month in the summer. It worked wonderfully. Almost zero bugs on our deck. We could actually sit outside and enjoy the evening hours. I think the entire bug population of Arkansas was living in our back yard before we used this. One negative thing that we found is that it does not take care of as much area that they claim but works well for what we purchased it for. No spraying or chemicals so safe for people and pets just not safe for the bugs.

So my SIL and I did a lot of research before I decided to purchase this particular product, and I am very happy with my purchase! Although there are a ton of dead bug carcasses in the trap when I empty it out I am not seeing that many mosquitoes in it. But that being said when we are sitting outside in our backyard by the pool I am not constantly swatting mosquitoes off of me. And my children are not all swollen with mosquito bites anymore!! I am really really happy with this purchase and I would recommend it to anyone who has a bug problem 🙂

It works well, I had it for one summer but I had to get two light bulbs because they both burned OUT. Now I have to get another bulb, I like the DynaTrap, but having had spent almost $40.00 on bulbs is getting a little too much.
